NJTOD.org Welcomes Courtenay Mercer to its Board
NJTOD.org welcomes our newest board member, Courtenay Mercer. Courtenay Mercer is Regional Plan Association’s New Jersey director, leading the organization’s research, planning, and advocacy activities in the state. Courtenay has extensive private- and public-sector land use planning experience that has enabled her to work on complex planning projects in a diverse range of communities. Prior to joining RPA, she owned a planning consulting firm and also has served as director of planning at the New Jersey Office of Smart Growth. Courtenay has been involved with many key New Jersey policy initiatives, including the State Plan, the Highlands Regional Master Plan, and the state transfer of development rights program. Courtenay currently serves on the American Planning Association board of directors, and is past-president of APA New Jersey Chapter. Courtenay is a New Jersey-licensed Professional Planner and certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners. She has a master’s in city and regional planning from the Bloustein School at Rutgers University. She lives in Jersey City, NJ.
